Questions & answers

How does it work?

Simply put, you buy your frame at Ikea, or use one you already have at home, and then dress it with fronts and sides from PLWD.

Which Ikea frames can I use?

We have products that fit IKEA's product ranges, METOD, FAKTUM, PAX, BESTÅ and PLATSA.

How are the products assembled?

Our cabinet doors are mounted with hinges you buy from IKEA. Drawer fronts are installed according to the installation instructions supplied with the drawer insert.

Cover sides are attached with screws from inside the enclosure or with double-sided mounting tape.

What is the thickness of doors and covers?

Furuplywood: Doors and drawer fronts are 18 mm. Covers are available in both 10 and 18 mm.

Birch plywood: Doors and drawer fronts are 18 mm. Covers are available in both 9 and 18 mm.

What is the quality of the plywood?

Our pine plywood is of quality class BB/X and birch plywood of class BB.

Furuplywood BB = painting quality. This is the most common grade of Furuplywood and has a surface with a slightly higher number of repaired defects than B grade. BB grade allows unlimited number of solid and healthy knots with diameter max 50 mm, repairs (plugs) in unlimited quantity and appearance, fillings/repairs of larger knots (max diam 25 mm) and larger cracks (max 10 mm), also minor discoloration is allowed. The finished surface should be smooth and complete.

X = backside quality. All types of defects are allowed and not remedied.

Birch plywood BB = painting quality. This is the most common quality of Birch plywood. BB grade allows a greater amount of fresh knots and the surface may also contain fillers and plugged/repaired knotholes. Color and texture errors are also accepted.

Characteristics of the plywood.

Plywood is a natural wood-based material that is affected by its environment. Things like moisture and UV light can change the surface of the door, giving it a unique patina over time. An untreated hatch is more susceptible to the effects of dirt and moisture, for example, so we recommend treating it with oil or wax. Treat both sides of the hatch in the same way to reduce the risk of hitting it. As plywood is a living material, each door is individual and we cannot guarantee how the door will age. If you perceive excessive deviations from what you expected on delivery, you are of course entitled to a new hatch. We love plywood!

What payment options does PLWD offer?

We offer Klarna Checkout where you can choose to pay by invoice, partial invoice or directly by card. You make your choice at the checkout when you pay.

How long is the delivery time?

Each order is made individually in our carpentry workshop, which means that the delivery time is about... 2-4 weeks unless otherwise specified at the time of ordering. During holiday periods, delivery times may be longer.

How do I know that my order has gone through?

As soon as you confirm your purchase, PLWD will send an order confirmation to the email address you provided at checkout.

Can I change or delete my order?

Orders made to order such as fronts, sides and plinths can only be canceled within 24 hours of placing the order. After that, the order is binding.

Has my order been sent?

Once your order has left the workshop, you will receive an email containing a link. This link allows you to track your order and follow it all the way to your home.

Can I return a product?

Absolutely, you always have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving your product, provided the product is returned in its original condition. Note! This does not apply when a product has been manufactured according to personal instructions.

Please note! In the event of a return, the buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs. This is likely to be significantly more expensive than the shipping you paid to get the goods home. This is because buying individual freight services is much more expensive than procuring large volumes of freight.

Email us at order@plwd.se within 14 days of the goods being delivered to you. State clearly in your email that you are withdrawing your purchase (or use the standard document for exercising the right of withdrawal produced by the Swedish Consumer Agency).

Instructions for applying linoleum in wristwatch handle routing. We recommend ordinary wood glue, available in small packages at a building supply store.

  1. Make sure that both surfaces are clean from dust, residues from any treatment of the plywood, and other impurities.
  2. Apply a layer of glue to the bottom of the linoleum piece, ensuring it covers the entire surface.
  3. Place the linoleum in the routing and press it down preferably for the entire drying time, (see drying time on the glue package).
