ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS

Plywood for IKEA kitchen and storage ranges.

Our products are designed to work together with IKEA's BESTÅ, PLATSA and PAX current METOD kitchen range and IKEA's older FAKTUM kitchen range. We manufacture doors, drawer fronts, side panels, tops and plinths in pine and birch plywood.

Our products are manufactured at the carpentry factory in Uppland where the raw material is sawn and holes for hinges and fixings and handles are milled out. Then everything is hand-sanded to give a perfect surface ready to be finished just the way you want it.

We recommend treating our products with oil, wax or stain to better resist moisture and dirt. In return, you get a surface that provides both character and beautiful depth.

More information about our plywood can be found in the FAQ.

PLAN YOUR PURCHASE

This is how it works

Plan your purchase carefully. If you are building a new home, you can use the planning tool from IKEA. If you are renovating an existing kitchen, you need to measure everything and then choose the same size for your new plywood doors. Feel free to order our sample pieces to get a feel for the material and try out different finishes.

Find the items you want to order and make your purchase. Then the factory in Uppland starts manufacturing your plywood products. In the meantime, you can spend some time finding the aftercare that is right for you.

Once your order has been delivered, the fun begins in enhancing your kitchen or storage with plywood from PLWD. Before actual installation, we recommend treating the plywood with oil or a combination of oil and wax. Read more under the heading 'Finishing of plywood'.

FINISHING OF PLYWOOD

Oil, wax and dyeing

If you want to give your new kitchen more personality and a more durable and easy-to-maintain surface on your doors, we recommend treating your plywood. Our personal favorite treatments are oil or the combination of oil and hard wax, which we believe makes the plywood more beautiful, immediately and over time.

If you want to color your plywood, you can do it with either stain or pigmented oil, both methods give a great end result and both can be complemented with hard wax.

Here are some of our favorite finishing products.
